PSHE/RSE "Changing me" - drop in session 2:30-3:15pm

Dear Parents and Carers. As part of our PSHE curriculum, in the second part of the summer term, we teach some of our Relationship and Sex Education content through the unit ‘Changing Me’.  We understand that it is helpful as parents to know the content of these lessons before they are taught so that you are aware of what your child will be learning and to help you prepare for any discussions or questions your child might have for you following the lessons. The focus of the learning is around positive, successful relationships. We want to reassure you that all of our lessons will be delivered sensitively to your child and will only cover the content we have planned for. The subjects are designed to help children from all backgrounds build positive and safe relationships, and to thrive in modern Britain.

There will be a ‘drop in’ session on Thursday 22nd May between 2.30pm and 3.15pm.  This will give you opportunity to speak with us in more detail about the lesson content, to ask any questions or to view the resources we will be using with your child.

Learning about positive successful relationships is key and this is compulsory education as dictated by the Government. You cannot withdraw your children from this learning. You can, however, request to withdraw your child from the sex education part of the learning. If you are considering doing this then please attend the drop-in session to discuss this with us.

Best wishes,

Mrs J Thomas and Mrs K Renshaw
