Dothill Primary School

National School Sports Week 2025

We’re excited to let you know that Dothill Primary School is taking part in National School Sports Week 2025, a nationwide celebration of the role of sport and play in young people’s lives. This event will take place from the Monday 16th June until the Friday 20th June.

Run by the Youth Sport Trust, this year’s campaign marks 30 years of supporting children to be Always Active. The aim is simple: to help every child enjoy 60 minutes of physical activity a day, supported by both school and home. Children are allowed to wear ‘An Always Active Uniform’ during this week. This could be sportswear or school PE kit.

To help achieve this, we’re doing a variety of activities during the week:
- Sports day
- Daily Mile
- Always active activities
- Sports Star Friday

To end the week with a celebration, we’ll also be holding Sports Star Friday on Friday 20 June. Pupils are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite sports star – from footballers to gymnasts, skaters to swimmers!  Inspired by the success of days like World Book Day, Sports Star Friday is all about having fun, sparking conversations about sport, and giving pupils the chance to celebrate their favourite athletes.  It’s a brilliant way to bring the school community together and round off a week of being Always Active with a smile.  There’s no expectation to buy anything new – just a chance to get creative and enjoy the joy of sport together.

Thank you for your support – we’re looking forward to a brilliant week of fun, movement and celebration!
