Transition and Staffing update - July 2025
Please find to follow a letter from Mrs Thomas sent out to current EYFS to Y5 parents/carers on 8th July 2025:
Transition Day Update
Today has been an exciting day at school as the children took part in Transition Day. This special day gave them the opportunity to spend time in their new classrooms, meet their new teachers, and begin to get a feel for what the next academic year will bring.
Your child will be bringing home a transition slip today, which includes the name of their new class and teacher for the upcoming school year. Please take a moment to review this with your child and celebrate this next step in their learning journey.
If you have any questions or would like to speak with a member of staff about your child’s transition, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Staffing Update
I would also like to take this opportunity to update you regarding the whole school staffing picture in September.
As Mrs Gill and Miss Jobe will be on maternity leave from September, we are delighted to welcome two new teachers to our team: Miss Chantry and Miss Spencer. Both are already preparing to get to know your child and will be wonderful additions to our school community.
In addition, we are excited to welcome Mrs Loveitt to our Inclusion Team. She brings a wealth of experience in SEND and Nurture and will be leading our new Key Stage 2 Nurture provision, which will be known as The Woodland. Miss Thornhill will continue to lead our Key Stage 1 Nurture provision, now named The Meadow. We are confident that both settings will provide nurturing, supportive environments tailored to meet the needs of our children.
We also welcome Miss Mitchell to our Teaching Assistant team who brings experience of supporting children with a wide range of needs.
We will also bid a fond farewell to Mrs Rouse, who has made the difficult decision to retire after 21 years. Prior to this, she was part of the Friends / PTA and was a volunteer. She really has been a special part of Dothill for a long time, and I know you will also wish her well as she takes some deserved time for herself.
