Dothill Primary School Admissions Policy for 2022-23

Admission 2022-2023 for EYFS (reception) Children
The closing date for applications for a reception school place for your child is 15th January.  If your child has an EHCP, then the closing date is 31st October.
National offer day takes place in April and parents are notified by Telford and Wrekin Council if they have been offered a place at our school.  We contact families by email in early May with our admissions information and create a new folder (below) with forms and further information.
We will be holding 3 open days for prospective parents to view the school (reception intake 2022-23).  The open day will consist of a small presentation in the hall followed by a tour of the school and will last around 45 minutes.   No need to book in advance, just turn up on the day!  Please park on the road and walk to the pedestrian entry gate (left hand side) where our Head Teacher, Mrs Butler, will meet you at 9:30am. We look forward to seeing you.

In-year admissions

If you are thinking of sending your child to our school as part of an in-year transfer from another school, please complete the Telford and Wrekin Council In Year Transfer form, which is on the T&W website.

Upon receipt of an application form from the Admission's Department, we complete and return this to them within 5 school days (term time only) wherever possible.  They then notify parents of the outcome of their application (within 15 school days of the application being received from the parent wherever possible).  If you would like your child to join our school, please follow the links below to the Telford and Wrekin Council website (link above).

Due to Covid-19 we are unable to hold visits to our school for prospective parents for in year transfers.  Our EYFS/Y1 Phase Leader has created this on-line presentation to give you an insight into EYFS.

In the folder below we've also added a video of the children in the classroom.

In all year groups, places are offered to applicants in order of the published over subscription criteria detailed in the primary school booklet on Telford and Wrekin Council's website, and as per our current Admissions Policy.
